There are two ways to give a chat something specific to work with. Attachments add files to a message and work in every chat type. Data mentions point workspace and app chats at a Data table using @.

Choose the paperclip
Select one file at a time. You can add up to five files to one message, with a maximum of 10 MB per file.

Explain what you need
Say what the file contains and what the chat should do with it.

Send the message
Images appear as previews. Other attachments appear by filename.
Supported formats cover documents, spreadsheets, data, code, and images:

Unsupported files show Unsupported file type. Files over the limit show File size must not exceed 10MB.
Images are shown as thumbnails in the input; other files appear as filenames. Attached images can be looked at directly, so a screenshot is a legitimate way to explain a problem.
For example: “This is last month’s expense claims. List any over $500 without a receipt reference.”
Data mentions in workspace chat
In a workspace chat, type @ and choose a Data table. The mention tells the chat which table to read.
If the list shows No databases found, the workspace has no available tables.
