MCP servers

Add your own MCP server so Appaca apps and coworkers can call tools from your systems.

An MCP server gives Appaca tools from another system. Use one when a built-in connector does not provide the access or actions you need. MCP servers require a paid plan.

Appaca calls the server you add here. To let Cursor, Claude, or ChatGPT call Appaca, use Connected agents instead.

Add a server

Workspace owners and admins can add MCP servers.

  1. Open MCP Servers

    Go to Settings → Connectors and find MCP Servers.

  2. Add the server

    Select Add Server, then enter Name and Server URL.

  3. Add authentication if required

    Under Auth Headers, add the headers required by your server. Saved values are hidden after you save.

  4. Test the connection

    Under Test Connection, select Test. Appaca confirms the connection and lists the available tools.

  5. Set Access and save

    Choose Everyone in this workspace or select individual members, then select Add Server.

Assign it where you need it

After adding the server, assign it where it is needed:

  • In an app’s Settings → Connectors
  • In a coworker’s Settings → Connectors
  • For one workspace chat, from the connector picker beside the message input

An MCP server assigned to a coworker is available in all of that coworker’s chats and Pulses.

Troubleshooting

If Test fails, check Server URL, Auth Headers, and whether the server is reachable from the internet.

Use narrow server credentials and limit Access to the members who need it. Appaca sends configured authentication headers whenever it calls the server.
