Tables belong to the workspace. An app can read and change only the tables it can access.
Grant access
-
Open the app chat
Go to the app that should use an existing table.
-
Type @ and choose the table
The mention identifies the table and grants the app read and write access.
-
Confirm the assignment
Open Data, select the table, and check the Used by N apps list.
An app also receives access automatically when it creates a table.
Access is read and write. There is no read-only option, so an app with access can create, update, and delete records.
Seeing which apps have access
Open Data and select a table. Used by N apps lists the apps with access.
Other ways to use Data
- A coworker can read and change workspace records when asked.
- A workspace chat can read Data for questions and analysis.
- The Data page is read-only.
Deleting an app
What happens depends on whether the app created the table.
- A table the app created is deleted with the app, including its records.
- A table the app was only granted remains, and the app is removed from Used by.
