Google Sheets

Authorize Google Sheets so apps and coworkers can read spreadsheet data and write rows back.

The Google Sheets connector lets Appaca read spreadsheets available to the connected Google account. Apps can also write values and append rows. Connectors require a paid plan.

Authorize it

Workspace owners and admins can connect Google Sheets.

  1. Open Google Sheets settings

Go to SettingsConnectors and select Google Sheets.

  2. Set Access

Choose Everyone in this workspace or select individual members.

  3. Connect Google Sheets

Select Connect, choose the Google account, and approve access.

  4. Assign the connector

Open the app or coworker’s SettingsConnectors, enable Google Sheets, and select Save.

Appaca requests spreadsheet access and read-only Drive access so it can find spreadsheets.

What apps and coworkers can do

  • Coworkers can list spreadsheets, preview their contents, and read a specific range.
  • Apps can list and read spreadsheets, write values to a range, and append rows.

Limits worth designing around

Writing to a range replaces its existing values. Appending adds rows after existing data. Spreadsheet formatting is not managed by the connector.

When something cannot be found

Confirm that the connected Google account can open the spreadsheet, then confirm that Google Sheets is assigned to the app or coworker. If access has expired, disconnect and reconnect the connector.
