Frequently asked questions

Quick answers on what Appaca can build, who can see what, and where the product's boundaries sit.

What is Appaca?

Appaca is an AI workspace for creating apps, working with Coworkers, managing Data and Knowledge, connecting services, and scheduling recurring work.

How do I create an app?

Open Apps, choose New app, and describe the workflow you need. Continue in chat to test and refine it.

Can I edit generated code?

Yes. Open the code editor from the code icon in the app chat header. Use chat for larger changes and direct edits for precise changes.

What is the difference between an app and a coworker?

An app provides a custom interface and functions for a workflow. A coworker follows reusable AI instructions to interpret, synthesize, or act within assigned resources. Use both when a workflow benefits from a structured interface and delegated AI work.

What files can I add to Knowledge?

Knowledge supports PDF, XLSX, XLS, DOCX, TXT, and CSV files up to 10 MB each.

Which Data field types are supported?

String, number, boolean, array, object, and enum.

Can I create a Data table myself?

No. Appaca creates tables while building an app. The Data page is read-only.

Can I edit or delete a record from the Data page?

No. The page lists records newest first, 50 at a time, with no editing, deletion, filtering, or export. Change records through the app that owns them.

Which integrations are supported?

Google Sheets, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Slack Bot, Slack User, and Airtable with a personal access token. External agents can connect through MCP.

Can Cursor, Claude, or ChatGPT connect to Appaca?

Yes. Connect them as Connected agents and approve the requested Appaca permissions.

Can I use a custom domain or staging environment?

Appaca does not currently offer self-serve custom domains or separate staging environments.

How does sharing work?

Open Share, turn on Enable sharing, and configure Require workspace membership, Allow usage, Allow cloning, and Passcode. Apps do not need publishing before sharing.

What is Remix?

Remix creates an independent app from a cloneable shared app. Later changes do not automatically sync between the original and remix.

Can members see everything in the workspace?

No. Owners and admins see every app and coworker. Members see only the apps and coworkers on their access lists, and they cannot open Data or Storage at all.

Do coworkers read my Notes?

No. Notes are for people. To give a coworker material to work from, upload it as Knowledge or put the guidance in the coworker’s instructions.

How do I report a bug?

Inside an app, select the bug icon, enter a message, and optionally attach one JPEG or PNG image. Screenshots are not captured automatically. For anything else, email [email protected]. Feature requests go on the roadmap.
