Web search and scripts

See when Appaca AI agent searches the web, browses a link, or runs a script, and how to read the results critically.

Appaca AI agent can search the web and run a script when a request needs current information, calculation, or data transformation.

Each action appears in the conversation as Searching the web…, Searched for ”…”, Running script…, or Script ran successfully.

An agent can search for current public information or read a URL you provide.

Search and URL browsing are each limited to three uses per response.

Check web results

  1. Use an authoritative link when you have one

Paste the URL and ask the chat to read it instead of relying on a broad search.

  2. Check important claims

Verify prices, legal requirements, and other decisions against the original source.

  3. Check the date

A page can still appear in search after its content has become outdated.

Scripts

An agent can run a short script for work such as totaling a spreadsheet column, reshaping data, parsing a file, or checking a calculation.

The script runs once and returns its result to the conversation.

When a script fails

A failed script reports the error to the chat, which may try another approach.

If it repeatedly fails, describe the input structure more clearly or provide a simpler file.
